NOTE: Partial Transcript Only (Missing Middle Section – Stella Power Interview)
Hi and welcome to Code Mongrel Episode 6. This week we’re in Belfast for DrupalCamp which is taking place over the 26th and 27th of October. There’s a range of topics scheduled from newbie content like the basics of views and theming – to more advanced topics like hosting a video site in Drupal.
There’s also a surgery section organised by Adam McCune and Chris Graham where the confused can submit their issues to the elite Drupalers floating around the venue.
Addison Berry from Lullabot is here and gave a great talk at this morning’s session on the Open Source scene going on around Drupal.
She’s also got a room dedicated to a documentation sprint, with a particular focus on the Drupal 7 documentation for the upcoming release.
One of the most interesting things going on is the Usability Testing lab that Heather James is running. She’s got a whole bunch of hi-tech equipment set up to do listening lab sessions and get conference attendees involved in usability experiments with Drupal 7. So hopefully that will give Drupal developers useful real world data on how people are using its user interface and it’s great to see this kind of work going on in an Open Source project such as Drupal.
So far, the organisation of the event has been fantastic and well done to everyone who’s helped stage the DrupalCamp, especially Stephen Gray, Feargal O’Kane and Stephen Cousins who’ve been busy making sure everything runs smoothly this morning. A special thanks to NICVA, the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action, who’ve provided the venue and laid on a terrific lunch after the morning session. It’s a great location, possibly the first conference that’s had reliable wifi thanks to Paul Gormley’s network mastery. All of NICVA’s efforts are really appreciated those attending this weekend’s event.
We’ve just gotten a chance to catch up with one of the busiest Drupalers on show here today – Stella Power. So here’s what she had to say on getting into Drupal development and some of the progress that has been made lately in the Drupal project.
INTERVIEW MISSING – WOULD GO HERE
That concludes the interview. We hope you enjoyed the coverage of Belfast’s first Drupal Camp and see you next time on Code Mongrel.
